About the harmonic minor scale
The harmonic minor raises the seventh note of the natural minor, creating a strong pull to the tonic and an exotic gap between the sixth and seventh notes. Step pattern: W – H – W – W – H – W+H – H. W = whole step (2 frets), H = half step (1 fret).
